Prayer Rocks!!! (And Big News.)

Written by Jonathan on . Posted in Dads, Encouragement, Family Devo Tips, Grandparents, Ideas, leaving a legacy, Moms, Prayers, Praying Together

Can you name three specific prayer requests God has answered this past month that your family has been praying for?  How about 10 over the past year?    It is hard to remember, right?

What if every Christian home had a memorial of God’s answered prayers, reminding them year after year of His faithfulness?

In Joshua 4, after God miraculously provided a way across the Jordan River, He instructed Joshua to build a rock monument.  Why?  God said, “that this may be a sign among you. When your children ask in time to come, ‘What do those stones mean to you?’ then you shall tell them that the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord… So, these stones shall be to the people of Israel a memorial forever.” (Read the whole account in Joshua 3:1-4:7.)

We have been writing prayer requests on rocks for years.  When we pray as a family, we each grab a rock and pray for that person or issue.  When God answers that prayer, we place it in our memorial as a visual reminder of His faithfulness.  We call it Prayer Rocks!

We have shared the idea of Prayer Rocks with many families and to tell even more families, we have enlisted the help of Evergreen Media Productions to produce a video to inspire parents/grandparents to lead their children to seek God as they pray with expectation! (Filming date: March 3-6)

Prayer Rocks is a movement that any family, in any country, of any language, can implement to help raise children who know God is at work!!

We have a matching donor up to $10,000!!  Every dollar given will double our goal of $20k!  We are partnering with many ministries for its distribution, so millions of families will be changed for generations!  Pray with us for the process, funding, and the global impact!

5 Reasons To Pray Together As A Family

Written by Jonathan on . Posted in Blog, Dads, Encouragement, Ideas, leaving a legacy, Prayers, Praying Together

We say mealtime prayers and pray with our kids at bedtime, but do we gather the family to seek God and expect Him to answer?  Do we fervently seek God’s heart and will; praise Him, thank Him, ask for forgiveness, and pray for others and our needs?

The fact is the majority of church attending parents aren’t praying as families. George Barna’s research revealed that less than 10% of parents in the church pray together with their kids other than at mealtimes.*
